Open House
Designed by Robert Baillie for St.Pancras Housing Association in 1967, the remodelled modernist house with its generous light spaces, form a perfect setting for the annual Open House event with my simple, contemporary wheel thrown ceramics.
The previous event also featured guest Artist Anna Shapiro with drawings and sketches describing her observations of urban landscapes.
Thank you to everyone who came to the last event in July 2023 and to those how came to Ceramic Art London May 2025. The next event is our open studio on the 7-8 June 2025. Marie Brunborg
Having dabbled with clay in my early years, I re-engaged with Ceramic’s in 2015. I focuse on wheel thrown forms and random patterning of drawn and textured surfaces. With simple white porcelain vessels, I play with the language of architectural technical drawings, unravelling the line in the spirit of Paul Klee’s ‘taking the line for a walk’. With similarly shaped stoneware vessels, my exploration of tactile surfaces encourages users to experience form and texture through touch. In making these vessels, my background in Architecture and Ceramics become inextricably linked through the acts of representing and making.

I work from a mall shared studio in Deptford, London follow me on Instagram @mariebrunb where I post details of events and share images of the making progress and new work as they come out of the kiln.
